Northwest Organization of Nurse Leaders News

NWONL January News

2019 was Productive and 2020 is Shaping up to be Extremely Exciting!

2019 was a year of evolution and reinforcing our foundation, plus we accomplished a fantastic amount of work!  NWONL focused on building connections and value for our nurse leader members to strengthen their impact on healthcare across the entire healthcare strata and at all leadership levels. We evolved our name and branding. We honed our values and refined our strategic plan. We met the needs of the membership with new events and laid the pathway for future events and activities.

Financially, our steadfast Board stewardship continues and the organization remains on solid financial ground with sustained revenue to fund operations, educational offerings and the scholarship awards.

Membership is steadily increasing. Our Annual Membership Drive starts now, January 21st, and progresses through mid-April. We don’t advertise and we rely on our members to identify and invite peers of distinction to our ranks. As such, we continue to steadily increase our membership across both states.

Our Regional Councils are gaining even more traction. Almost all regions are now actively engaging members and potential members and it shows with the impressive impact of many Council Leaders.

Our 2020 plan is looking, to put it mildly, sensational…  Our Board kicked off the planning year at our January meeting by having deeper discussion and work sessions for the annual conference, thought leadership material and meeting planning for the year. This included regional symposia, engagement with industry peers, deeper dives into best practices, to name a few… In addition to the Annual Conference, the Charge Nurse class has been very popular, and a Nurse Management course is in the works as well as in-development dialog with AONL for potentially sharing the Fellowship and Certification tracks.

Saving likely the best for last… CEs. Yes, we are becoming a CE approver and will be able to bring CE to a large swath of our Council's offerings.

In closing, a hearty thank-you to all for a successful 2019 and a resounding cheer to what is in store for 2020!
