This week we celebrate Florence Nightingale’s birthday and kick off National Nurses week!
The Power of Moments, (the latest book by Chip and Dan Heath) looks at how experiences and moments can create lasting impressions, insight, and connection. Moments are by chance, luck or purposeful. Nurses are “moment masters”. Providing care to patients, teaching other nurses, managing teams or leading entire organizations: nurses are at the heart of moments that delight, inspire and provide hope. This is always a good time of year for reflection and celebration of your own nursing career, those “moments” that connect, inspire and heal others – Happy Nurses Day to you!
“So never lose an opportunity of urging a practical beginning, however small, for it is wonderful how often in such small matters the mustard-seed germinates and roots itself” – Florence Nightingale
This week is also National Hospital Week and a time to celebrate partnership with the organizations where nurses have a foundational footprint. Hospitals, where teamwork between nurses, physicians, therapists and any individual that supports the care of a patient has reason to celebrate every time it is done right! Which is countless memorable moments every day.
