Message from the President

We are at the halfway mark of 2018, and I can confidently say that it is and will be a great year for NWone!

Line-up of 2018 NWone Awards

A few weeks ago, we celebrated many tremendous and inspiring Nursing Leaders at our Annual Meeting and Conference! We had a sold out crowd of attendees and amazing weather at the beautiful Skamania Lodge. I look forward to our conference every year as one of my personal strategies to stay energized and connected to colleagues and friends who share a passion for Nursing Leadership!

Looking forward, the second half of the year will bring the launch of some new education offerings and resources for our members. And of course, we will all be watching as the fall elections play out and the faces of some of our local and national leaders change. One of my greatest hopes is to see Nursing Leaders in the forefront of the efforts to evolve the healthcare industry and re-shape how we all provide care to our communities. If you are looking for ways to get involved, consider joining the NWone Leadership Commission where the team focuses on policy and practice (to participate, contact Marcy:

Also, I encourage you to check out the AONE Advocacy work, and join the mission of Promoting the Voice of Nursing Leadership. I would love to see a group of NWone members at the AONE Advocacy Day on September 5, 2018! You can learn more here:

As you all head into the summer, I hope that everyone has time to carve out for spending time with family, enjoying the amazing outdoors that our states provide us access to, and anything else that ‘fills your buckets’! We must take care of ourselves to assure we can lead and see the changes needed to the health of our communities.

Thank you all for the work you do! I look forward to the next year as part of this tremendous group!
